Cathedral City LGBT Days Mission
Celebrate diversity in the strength, equality and self-determination of the LGBT community locally. Cathedral City LGBT Days was created and established to promote the public education, awareness and diversity of individual rights and civil liberties of the LGBT community. Our intention is to continue to welcome, support, and bridge activities that educate, encourage and celebrate the LGBT community to the businesses and residents of Cathedral City.
Cathedral City LGBT Days’ Bed Race
The Cathedral City LGBT Days’ Bed Race is open to civic groups, community based organizations, businesses, volunteer groups, employee groups, friends, not-so-close friends, and neighbors – basically any group of 5 fun people that can fill out an application and sign the waiver is welcome to enter.
• Teams of 5 individuals (4 bed pushers, 1 bed rider)
• Team members must be 18 years of age or older
• You pick your theme (i.e…Sci-Fi, Public Safety, Drag, Oompa Loompas, Super Heroes, etc.)

The Bed Race begins at the Rainbow Arch Crosswalk on Avenida Lalo Guerrero near Cathedral Canyon Drive and will travel east on Avenida Lalo Guerrero, past City Hall, and continue to the finish line on Avenida Lalo Guerrero near Pickfair Street.

Bed for Bed Race:
Each bed entry shall be custom built by the team to include a single, double, or queen size bed frame on wheels, with four posts to push. Beds may only be moved by human power and not have any power source or battery-assist technology. Beds can be decorated as a themed “float” and teammates may wear costumes of their choosing, provided that all teams comply with public decency laws. The judges of the bed race can disqualify/eliminate any entry based on their subjective opinion of the decency of the bed theme/décor/costumes. The decision of the judges is final in all cases.
